What We Pick Up

Our residential recycling program handles everyday household materials – paper, cardboard, plastics, and metals – so residents can make a difference without changing their routine.

With a single‑stream collection, all allowable material goes into one bin – no sorting required at your residence.

What’s Not Accepted

Not everything belongs in a recycling container. Food-soiled containers, certain plastics, electronics, and hazardous materials must stay out to keep the stream clean.

Contact us for guidelines on what should – and shouldn’t – go in the bin.

Residents are asked not to place the following items in their garbage container: household chemicals, electronic waste (e.g., computer equipment), yard trimmings, hot ashes or coals, dead animals, and construction or demolition debris. These materials are prohibited due to safety and operational concerns. Chemicals and hot ashes pose a significant fire risk in collection vehicles. This includes paints and solvents.

Who Can Add Residential Recycling

Residential recycling is only available to customers who already receive trash collection from GW Services. If we’re serving your neighborhood, HOA, or managed community for waste, we can evaluate your route, recommend the right schedule, and add recycling as part of your overall program.

How Our Single‑Stream Recycling Works

Our Recycling Schedule

Recycling routes are scheduled once per week, coordinated with your existing trash service:

  • Curbside collection: Once per week on Wednesday, Thursday, or Saturday (depending on your neighborhood or community schedule)

We’ll confirm your specific recycling day when service is set up for your area.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Yes, residential recycling is only offered to neighborhoods, HOAs, and managed communities that already receive waste collection from GW Services. This setup allows us to coordinate routes and keep service efficient.

Recycling is collected once per week. Depending on your area, your recycling day will be Wednesday, Thursday, or Saturday. When your program starts, we’ll let you know exactly which day to set out your recycling container.

No, our program is single‑stream, which means all acceptable recyclables go into one container. We collect them from the curb and take them off-site, where the materials are sorted and processed.

We accept clean cardboard, flattened beverage cartons, aluminum and steel cans, foil, plastic bottles and containers labeled #1–3, as well as mixed paper, mail, newspapers, magazines, and paper bags.

We do not accept contaminated or soiled items such as dirty or greased boxes, food containers, or wet toilet paper, along with materials like glass, mirrors, light bulbs, plastic bags, Styrofoam, binders, ink cartridges, and batteries.

Keeping non-recyclable items out of the container helps reduce contamination and ensures recyclable materials can be properly processed.

If GW Services already handles your trash, contact us to discuss adding recycling. We’ll review your current routes, recommend container sizes and a day of service, and provide the educational materials residents need to get started.
